This was a real cup tie at Danny O’Dwyer Park between two Excellent sides. The first half was nip and tuck for the whole half, very little between the two teams. St Nicholas missed a few chances and it was a game of margins. Suirside were kept to half-chances, very little between the two teams in the first half. One good chance from St Nicholas on 38 minutes saw Jason Sutton through on goal, only for the keeper to save from a shot down to his side.

Second half remained nip and tuck all through the half, with chances at both ends. On 70 minutes, St Nicholas had a great chance when a lovely cross from Aaron Blanche, saw Jason Sutton have a shot saved by the keeper. St Nicholas were putting the pressure on from then on and on 82 minutes, Jason Sutton scored from a brilliant through ball by Jason Buckley, which split the Suirisde defence, and Jason Sutton slotted the ball brilliantly with his left foot to the corner of the net to make it 1-nil.

There was a couple of  Half chances after that. Suirside hit the target with a shot, but Bradley McNabb in goal for St Nicholas saved to keep the scoreline 1-nil.

Right at the end, St Nicholas had a chance to score, and put the tie to bed when Jack Redican hit the target with a long range effort but the keeper pulled off a good save, and in the end, St Nicholas ended up keeping their lead and were deserving winners to win 1-nil and make it through to the 4th round and out of the area of the Munster competition.

Draw for the next round takes place this Thursday 21st of November at 5 o clock at Munster Headquaters
